| SAAC Conducts Alcohol Training Program |
|
On July 27, SAAC conducted a certification training program for alcohol sellers in conjunction with the McCall Foundation’s Stop Underage Drinking coalition. Seven participants from six retail stores attended the three-hour training in Canaan that covered CT laws on sales and responsible procedures to curtail underage or risky sales. The training encourages alcohol sellers to become partners in the effort to promote the responsible use of alcohol by adults and the elimination of underage drinking. Participants complete a skills and knowledge exam that qualifies them for three years as TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certified. Specialized TIPS programs are available for retail establishments, colleges, restaurants and bars.
