SAAC Represented at CAP Conference |
|
On June 13, Father Kapriel Mouradjian, Community Liaison for CMHA’s Substance Abuse Action Council (SAAC), provided the invocation for Connecticut's Third Annual Congregation Assistance Program (CAP) Conference in Middletown. More that 50 clergy and lay persons from faith communities around the state met with professionals in addiction and mental health fields. Bob and Laura Erickson, members and chair of SAAC's Recovery Committee, shared their experiences in community ministry and the “Celebrate Recovery!” movement, and SAAC participated in the event’s wellness resource fair.
The CAP program provides training and assistance to faith communities who seek to expand services to their congregations and communities and respond to the changing needs of their members. Marlene McGann, Managing Director of SAAC, is the CT CAP Coordinator.
